On-site Command

Running alongside the DigiChat Server, the Commander provides administrators with a suite of powerful tools aimed at overseeing and tracking a chat site's status and performance. Additionally the Commander faciliates instant command-line level access to a site for the purposes of scripting and automating many server tasks.
The Commander offers such advanced features as real-time reporting of the number of sites, rooms and users on a given server. It can also provide information about the highest number of simultaneous connections, current active threads, time of the last connection and the total number of connections to a given site. The statistics are highly configurable to exclude empty rooms or sites to streamline monitoring efforts.
The Commander's robust communications package gives the site administrator the ability to immediately push ChatBroadcast messages to an entire server population, to a single site, room or even and individual chatter. This can be an important tool allowing administrators to notify users of imminent events such as server or network outages that may be anticipated.
As one example of the many possibilities where the Commander combines these features, it can be automated to draw upon a Web site's membership database to instant message site visitors, via the DigiChat interface, when they have received new e-mail messages from the accounts listed in their personal profiles. This type of flexibility is completely unprecedented in the Java chat software industry. It adds a totally new level of control and interactivity for the site administrator. The DigiChat Commander truly raises the bar in online community administrative awareness.
